Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette Review + Swatches on Brown Skin
Hey Brown Girl!
Today we are admiring one of the queens of palettes, The Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette. These timeless shadows are packaged in velvet elegance and clean white lettering. The inferior casing is black with gold lettering and it comes with a useful blending brush.
This beauty retails for $42, and come with 14 eyeshadow shades. Now let’s take a look into the swatches.
Pictured, from left to right, are the following shades: VERMEER, BUON FRESCO, ANTIQUE BONZE, LOVE LETTER, CYPRUS UMBER, PRIMAVERA, RED OCHRE, VENTIAN RED, WARM TAUPE, REALGAR, GOLDEN OCHRE, and BURNT ORANGE.
The modern renaissance sticks out with its incredible matte shades. The colors are pigmented, creamy, and extremely blend-able. There is a nice balance of shimmers and matte shades, but to be honest, most of the shimmers aren’t super “shimmery”, which means that you could get away with using them in a crease easily. This is a definite staple for me.
I love how the colors compliment brown skin. At the price point, this is $3 an eyeshadow! This palette was sold out the first time I tried to purchase and has been sold out countless times since then at my local Sephora. This is definitely a gem in the palette realm. I love it! I just recently used it in my festival inspired makeup tutorial, which can be found here, and I loved how easy it was to build up the colors and blend everything together.
Overall, I think this is worth the purchase! Get you one girl.
